Joanna Asiimwe
Joanna Asiimwe is our Operations Lead. She has over 5 years’ experience in building and developing multi-functional competencies in strategic management, client relations, data analysis content writing, procurement, people and culture management as well as overseeing the growth of various start-ups and organizations.
Asiimwe is a strategy, sustainability and continuous improvement enthusiast!
Joanna is passionate about creating safe spaces that hold candid, invigorating and insightful conversations where all voices are heard. She is also an excellent facilitator of conversations especially those held at Baraza by The Fire.
Joanna holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from Uganda Christian University.
Grace Kabushenga
Grace is a co-team leader at Interface. She is a professional Sociologist and theologian with a passion for integrating faith and culture in society. She has more than a decade of experience from both the academic and community development sector especially in the engagement of youth and young people as they navigate their place in this world. She Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology From Rhodes University South Africa , a Post graduate Diploma in Management from the University of London and a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, (USA)
She is also an avid writer and baker in her free time.
Grace is married to Yosam Manafa and they have two children.
Rachel Kobusinge
Kobusinge Rachel is passionate about justice, equality and promoting power structures that support the same. She contributes to this by carefully curating conversation for and amongst young people from different walks of life, on current themes affecting youth that range from politics, tribalism,
social justice, human rights, faith, mental health, to mention but a few.
Kobusinge has witnessed how such constructive conversation changes thinking (attitudes) and fosters thought leadership, peace building, respect and celebration of diversity. She believes that
open and honest conversation is a vital tool for conflict aversion, resolution and developing our nations subsequently.
In the past, Kobusinge served as a youth leader where she volunteered and worked with young people in her local church and community. She also engaged in bringing free legal aid to
underprivileged communities, and participated in providing sensitization to slum communities in Kampala.
Rachel has a degree in Law from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda
She is currently pursuing a second degree in Politics and International Relations.
Hawa Nanjobe Kimbugwe
Hawa Nanjobe Kimbugwe is a versatile, committed, determined, enthusiastic and open minded young lady that is passionate about Communications, Marketing, Networking, Activism, Peace,
Poetry, Art & Theatre, and Leadership.
She is a Ugandan based Poet, passionate Peace builder, Artists’ manager and youth trainer with over 5 years’ experience in Peace building, Poetry and Communication strategy planning and developing both digital media and offline campaigns. She has worked largely in the Non Profit sector and the Creative Sector and is dedicated to promoting Peace, intercultural and interfaith collaboration and empowering women and youth to meaningfully participate in both local and global development.
Nanjobe is an Extremely Together Uganda Chapter fellow, a Kofi Annan Foundation Initiative of a global network young people coming together against Violent Extremism, an iDOVER – (Interfaith Dialogue on Violent Extremism) ; an international network of over 100 Peace builders and a COFP 2022/2023 Fellow (Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace)
Hawa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science of Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Kyambogo University in Uganda.
Geoffrey Mbaziira
Geoffrey Mbaziira is Finance, records keeping, Administration and Management professional with 15 years’ experience in the Ugandan banking and non-profit sectors. He is also an experienced community organizer and teacher who is passionate about teaching and equipping people especially in a Church settings.
In addition to providing leadership in our Finance and Administration Department, he is also a trained conversation facilitator and provides guidance for many of the organization’s Baraza By the Fire sessions.
He holds a Diploma in Records and Archives Management and is married to Jacky with whom they have one son called Jordan.
